We’re going to the Jisc Digital Festival

5th March 2015

On Monday and Tuesday, 9th & 10th March, Symplectic will be attending the Jisc Digital Festival, along with our friends at Digital ScienceFigshare, and Altmetric.

The Jisc Digital Festival is happening at Birmingham’s International Convention Centre, and is all about exploring the frontiers of digital education and research.

Highlights from the programme include:

  • A discussion on standards in research discovery and researcher recognition
  • A talk on 3D technologies for teaching and learning
  • Incentives and motivations for sharing research data

Jisc now has a major focus on Open Access too, in light of recent HEFCE mandates, and will be running various sessions on how they can help support institutions comply with these.

We’re also particularly looking forward to Professor Carol Goble from the University of Manchester, talking about research information management (it’s a favourite topic of ours).

You can follow the conference online with the hashtag #digifest15, and tune in to live coverage of the keynotes and selected sessions.  We’ll be tweeting our thoughts from the conference floor @symplectic, and writing our thoughts afterwards here on the blog.

If you’re going, make sure to download the official Digifest app, and stay connected with your fellow delegates.

See you at the Digifest!
