The University of Wollongong (UOW) has been a Symplectic Elements client since 2020. UOW is an Australian public research university located just 85km south of Sydney in Wollongong, New South Wales, offering excellence in teaching, learning, and research.
We are pleased to announce that UOW has completed the steps to migrate from their VIVO portal onto a public profile portal built by Symplectic, known as UOW Scholars. UOW Scholars showcases the University’s collective research expertise and academic achievement, giving its academics a means to share their achievements and work, foster academic collaborations, and connect with new research students.
UOW Scholars repurposes the rich and often unique data already collected within Elements to populate fully-rounded profiles including biographical information as well as their publications, grants and professional & teaching activities. The platform aims to make researchers, grants, and expertise as discoverable as possible.
As of now, UOW Scholars features 1,368 researcher profiles, including the ability to filter by department, availability (e.g. Masters Research, PhD student supervision), Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Department, and Field of Research (FoR 2020) codes.
