We’d like to congratulate the University of Georgia on their recent successful campus-wide rollout of Elements. At the end of August this year, UGA Elements went live across the prestigious US institution to help them ‘collect, contextualize, report on, and publicly profile’ their research.
As well as being a significant step in the evolution of UGA’s research management, it also represents numerous milestones for Symplectic.
This is one of our first fully hosted live Elements systems (instead of locally implemented), and one of the largest implementations we’ve ever done, with 7 feeds and 17 data migrations completed before going live!
UGA plans to capture all their professional activities within the system too, helping to support their annual faculty evaluation process with a custom-designed Elements Activity Summary. With hundreds of users logging in on day one, claiming many thousands of publications, the launch was a great success.
When implemented, UGA Elements will increase UGA’s competitive edge in promoting the value of UGA’s faculty, staff, and students to the state; showcasing UGA research to enhance our national visibility; pursuing sponsored project grants; and identifying opportunities for academic and corporate partnerships.

We’d like to thank our partners within UGA for their professionalism and enthusiasm while working with us to ensure Elements meets their needs, and connecting and migrating many sets of data. (And thanks to the UGA team for giving a presentation on this significant endeavour at our North American User Conference, back in August.) We look forward to continuing to support UGA in achieving their strategic goals in future.
